Hôtel Phoenix Park

this hotel is in DC, so it's pricey. but, it's a deal, compared to other hotels in DC. an old building that has been cared for well, the rooms are clean and nicely appointed. and offer some decent views. you get a free drink at the Dubliner when you're a guest, too. they do not have dairy alternatives for coffee offered in the lobby, but it's a nice place to sit and read. the coffee is ok. the staff are all friendly and efficient. book confidently!

My mom and I were stuck in DC after a Bruce Springsteen concert without a place to sleep and everything was closed down in the Union Station. We walked across the street to this hotel and the concierge, Darren, was so welcoming and helpful to our situation. He immediately jumped into finding a room for us and even matched a lower price I found online. Thank you so much to Darren and the Phoenix Park Hotel for finding a room for us so we could lay down and recharge after a long day.

They charge a security deposit upon arrival, and when you check out they say the money will be returned in seven days, but they never do. I've complained several times and still haven't received my money back. Read the reviews here; it seems to be a common practice at this hotel. Good deal given it is DC...comfortable room, clean and pretty quiet (they give you earplugs if you need them!) Couldn't beat the location.

The receptionists were incredibly kind. We arrived early by train and only intended to leave our luggage there, but they surprised us by giving us our room right away. It was the perfect gift for our long journey, and we were very grateful. Furthermore, the location is convenient; taking the subway is easy.

The hotel's location is excellent and close to Union Station, a 5-minute walk away. The rooms are a good size and clean. The security deposit was $100, of which $32 was a facility fee, even though these services weren't necessary. Overall, I recommend it.
