Indoor venues
Berlin has a lot of indoor cruising. Some places have dedicated nights instead of being cruising clubs all the time. A few are permanent darkroom clubs; others are bars or saunas with a cruising area. Because of the weekly-night format, you need to know what's on when. Telegram channels and venue websites are the best way to check.
Dedicated nights cover leather, rubber, bears, younger crowds, older crowds. Berlin is big enough that you can find a specific night for most tastes almost any week.
Venues:
The Tiergarten
The Tiergarten is a big park in central Berlin, between the Brandenburg Gate and Charlottenburg. It's been an outdoor cruising area for decades. The action is in the wooded parts, especially east of the Siegessäule (Victory Column). Summer evenings, from dusk on, are busiest. The park is well-known enough that it's on maps and in guidebooks. Police patrol sometimes, but they rarely enforce against consensual outdoor activity.
The park is huge. If you walk from the Brandenburg Gate, give yourself at least fifteen minutes to get to the main cruising areas. It's a nice park on its own—not some seedy or threatening place.
Clubs and darkrooms
Many of Berlin's bigger gay clubs have darkrooms or dedicated cruising floors. This isn't unusual here; it's just how some clubs are. KitKatClub is the obvious example, though its nights are mixed/pansexual, not exclusively gay. Several Kreuzberg places have specifically gay darkroom nights on regular weekly schedules.
Practical notes
Indoor venues usually charge entry at the door. Bring cash. In dark areas of clubs, keep your phone away—it's polite and often enforced. Berlin's club culture around sex is direct, not sneaky, which might surprise visitors. No one's shocked or judging.
