Cologne has a well-established gay sauna scene to match its well-established gay bar district. Several venues within range of the "Bermuda Triangle" gay bar area offer everything from historic establishments to younger, more contemporary options.
Badehaus Babylon
One of the most beautiful gay saunas in Europe, according to those who've been — famous for its pool in a Mediterranean-style inner courtyard. Private cabins, bar, and bistro with themed events throughout the month. Rated exceptionally highly by visitors for atmosphere and aesthetics. Open daily noon to 10pm, €15–25 entry.
Pansauna
Highest-rated sauna in Cologne — dry sauna, jacuzzi, sun loungers, and massage services. Admission from €10–18. Clean, focused facility without the extensive play areas of the larger venues. Good for those who want the wellness side more than the cruise side.
Phoenix Sauna
Young and stylish by Cologne standards — hot jacuzzi, new bar, and extensive cruising areas. €17.50 entry with youth discounts. Open noon to 11pm daily. More party-oriented than Badehaus or Pansauna.
Sauna Vulcanus
The oldest gay sauna in Cologne — attracts a mature clientele and their admirers. Near Marienplatz. The character is classic and unhurried; regulars have been coming for years.
Cologne Gay Scene
The "Bermuda Triangle" — Mathiasstraße, Schaafenstraße, and surrounding streets — is one of Germany's most concentrated gay bar areas. Cologne Pride (CSD) in July draws up to a million people along the Rhine. The saunas and the bar strip are within reasonable distance of each other in the central city.
