Hannover has a modest but functional gay scene — a handful of outdoor cruising spots, a few indoor venues, and a community centred around the Linden district. Not Berlin, but enough to be useful if you're in the city.
Eilenriede Park
Hannover's large city forest — secluded paths and wooded areas in the sections away from main routes. The areas near the zoo entrance and around Lister Turm are the most frequented. Active from spring through autumn, with the wooded cover providing natural privacy.
Georgengarten
Part of the Herrenhausen Gardens in the Herrenhausen district — the area around the Leibniz Temple and the nearby lake is the known spot. A beautiful park in any case, and the cruising activity is mostly evening-oriented and discreet.
Ricklinger Kiesteiche
A recreation area in the Ricklingen district with multiple lakes. The FKK (nudist) section is surrounded by wooded areas that serve as cruising territory in summer. More outdoor/naturist in character than park cruising.
Silbersee
In nearby Langenhagen, north of the city — clothing-optional area on the eastern side of the lake that attracts visitors in summer months. More relaxed in character, requires getting out of the city centre.
Indoor Option
Sex-Point (Celler Straße, 30161 Hannover) — adult establishment with extended weekend hours. Not exclusively gay but functions in that capacity for many visitors.
Hannover's Gay Scene
The Hannover gay bar scene is small — a few venues in and around the Linden district and the city centre. Christopher Street Day Hannover is typically in June. The city is functional rather than destination-worthy for gay travel, but the infrastructure exists.
