Liverpool: The Scouse Welcome

Liverpool's LGBTQ+ scene is smaller than Manchester but benefits from something harder to engineer: a genuinely warm, inclusive social atmosphere that is specifically Scouse. The Stanley Street area is the gay quarter — G-Bar is the main bar, Garlands on Eberle Street is the celebrated club night that has been running since the 1990s.

Liverpool Pride in late July routes its parade to the Pier Head — the UNESCO World Heritage waterfront with the Three Graces behind and the Mersey ahead. It is one of the most visually distinctive Pride settings in England. The city is 35 minutes from Manchester by train; many visitors combine both.
