The honest summary: Szczecin is a port city of about 384,000 people (GUS, end of 2025) on the Oder, 150 km north-east of Berlin. It is an easy, calm place to visit as a gay traveller, but it has no gay bar, club or sauna open right now. LGBTQ+ life runs through one association, Lambda Szczecin, and one big date, the Equality March each July. For gay nightlife, most locals take the two-hour train to Berlin.
Legal in one line: Same-sex relationships are legal in Poland, but there is no civil partnership or marriage. The 2026 partnership bill was vetoed in July and the override failed on 17 September 2026; since May 2026, same-sex marriages concluded elsewhere in the EU can be transcribed into Polish records.
What the scene actually looks like
We checked Travel Gay, misterb&b, older travel blogs, Polish press (tvn24, Super Express) and map searches in English and Polish for "gej bar", "klub gejowski" and "sauna gejowska" in Szczecin. They agree. No dedicated gay venue is confirmed open in 2025-2026, and the city's last gay clubs have not been replaced. misterb&b's Szczecin page lists hotels only.
The Old Town, the Wały Chrobrego riverside terraces and the streets around Aleja Wojska Polskiego and Bogusława X are where Szczecin goes out. The bars there are mixed and generally relaxed, but none calls itself queer, so we don't list any as gay. The same map searches for "gay club" mostly return go-go and strip clubs, which are not LGBTQ+ venues.
Lambda Szczecin: the real community hub
Stowarzyszenie Lambda Szczecin was registered in 2002. Its office is at Al. Papieża Jana Pawła II 50/U7, next to the Municipal Public Library near Plac Lotników; the entrance is between a florist and a hairdresser. According to its website it runs evening support groups (an open group for LGBTQ+ adults and a trans group met in October 2026), free legal and psychological help, and a meeting space for queer youth. It also says it supports the local drag scene, which gets a stage during Pride.
The city's grant register lists an Equality Picnic in 2025 and a "Kiki Ball 2026", but we couldn't confirm the dates or venues. If you want to know whether there is a party, ball or drag night while you're in town, ask Lambda or check @lambda.szczecin on Instagram.

Pride: the Szczecin Equality March
The Szczeciński Marsz Równości closes the week-long Szczecin Pride Festival. The first march was in September 2018, and there was none in 2020.
- 2024: Saturday 20 July. The city president, Piotr Krzystek, gave it his patronage for the first time, and a delegation came from Berlin Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, Szczecin's partner district (berlin.de).
- 2025: Saturday 12 July, the 7th march, under the motto "Na co czekacie?" (tvn24).
- 2026: Saturday 18 July, the 8th march, from Plac Lotników at 14:00, after a festival week that started on Monday 13 July.
- 2027: not announced at the time of writing. Recent editions have fallen on a Saturday in mid-July.
- Skandal Club, al. 3 Maja 20: the city's first gay club, with a darkroom. Closed in October 2017 (Travel Gay). Some scraper sites still show it as open.
- LOVEclub All Together, ul. Tkacka: a mixed, largely queer club. Travel Gay reported it closed in 2022.
- Gay sauna, darkroom, cruise club: none found in English or Polish sources.
- Gay beach: none. The Dąbie lake beach is an ordinary city beach. The nearest naturist beach is at Międzyzdroje, about 56 km away, with no gay reputation in the sources we found.
- Amber Suite Przystanek: apartment-style rooms on Kurza Stopka in the Old Town, 4.8 on Google.
- Moxy Szczecin City: Marriott's Moxy at Brama Portowa.
- Hotel Dana: long-established upscale hotel on Aleja Wyzwolenia.
- Halo Szczecin and Hotel Focus: central city hotels.
- Hotel Victoria: next to the main station, handy for Berlin trains.
- Hotel Podzamcze: below the Ducal Castle.
- Grand Park Hotel: quieter, by Kasprowicz Park.
- Berlin is the night out. Direct trains from Szczecin Główny take roughly two hours, so a Berlin weekend is easy to add.
- Getting in: Szczecin-Goleniów airport (SZZ) is about 45 km by road from the centre. Trains to Warsaw take around five to six hours.
- Safety: Szczecin is generally safe. West Pomerania never adopted an "LGBT-free" resolution, and the regional marshal (2023) and city president (2024) have both supported the march. A Lambda stand was torn down at a city fair in 2018, and nationalists counter-protested in 2019. We found no reports of attacks in 2024-2026.
- Apps: with no bars, dating apps are how most gay men meet here.
Closed or changed: gone but still Googled

Where to stay
The Old Town, Brama Portowa and the area by Szczecin Główny station are the practical bases. Everything we list is a mainstream hotel that welcomes gay guests, not a gay hotel:
See all of them on the Szczecin hotels page.

FAQ
Is there a gay bar in Szczecin?
Not at the moment. We found no gay bar, club, sauna or darkroom open in Szczecin in 2025-2026. Skandal Club closed in 2017 and LOVEclub in 2022. Locals mostly go to Berlin, about two hours away by train, for gay nightlife.
When is Szczecin Pride?
The Szczecin Equality March (Marsz Równości), organised by Lambda Szczecin, closes a week-long Pride Festival in July. The 2026 march was on Saturday 18 July, from Plac Lotników at 14:00. The 2027 date had not been announced at the time of writing.
Where can I meet LGBTQ+ people in Szczecin?

Generally yes. West Pomerania never adopted an "LGBT-free" resolution, and both the regional marshal and the city president have backed the Equality March. Past incidents include a vandalised Lambda stand in 2018 and a 2019 counter-protest. Use normal big-city care late at night.
Are same-sex marriages recognised in Poland?
