About the event

Pianist performs on the 5th, at Clube do Choro, and on the 6th, at CCBB Brasília, with reinterpretations of the duo's work and dialogues with Bach, Beethoven, and Chopin
The work of Tom Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes gains a new perspective next weekend in the Tom e Vinicius project, presented by Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil Brasília. The guest this time, pianist João Ventura, performs on Saturday (5th) at Clube do Choro and on Sunday (6th) at CCBB Brasília, in a show that revisits the duo's repertoire through the language of Counterpoint, a project where the musician brings classical music and popular song closer together.
Recognized precisely for his ability to move between these two universes, João finds in the work of Tom and Vinicius a particularly fertile ground for this proposal. On the piano, songs that marked the partnership gain new interpretations, preserving the melodic and poetic strength of the repertoire and opening space for encounters with Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, and other great composers. Virtuosity, improvisation, emotion, and good humor lead a performance that invites the audience to rediscover Brazilian music classics from a surprising perspective.
The connection gains special contours in the work of Tom Jobim, whose formation and musical language established important dialogues between concert music and Brazilian song.
