Grupo Arco-Íris Pernambuco

Grupo Arco-Íris Pernambuco (Pernambuco Rainbow Group) is the state's principal LGBTQ+ rights and advocacy organization and one of the most active in northeastern Brazil. The organization works across the full spectrum of LGBTQ+ civil society: anti-discrimination advocacy at state and municipal levels, legal support for individuals facing violence and discrimination, educational outreach in schools and community organizations, and the coordination of the Parada da Diversidade de Pernambuco — Recife's Pride parade, which draws approximately 500,000 participants in September and ranks among the largest Pride events in Brazil.
