About this place Beach Backpackers Hostel

Beach Backpackers Hostel in Rio de Janeiro: budget beds, a 7-minute walk to the metro, and 15 minutes to Botafogo beach.

It’s a straightforward hostel, nothing fancy, but clean and well-located. You can walk to Botafogo beach in 15 minutes, which is a good spot to catch some sun and watch the city go by. If you’re heading further afield, the nearest metro stop is just seven minutes away on foot. Christ the Redeemer is about 12 km from here, so you’ll need to factor in travel time for the big sights.

Rooms come in a few configurations. Dorms fit up to 15 people, with bunk beds, linens, and towels included. If you don’t fancy sharing with that many strangers, private rooms are also an option. Many rooms have air-conditioning, which you’ll appreciate in Rio, and some even have their own bathrooms. Breakfast is free, a buffet, so you can fill up before you head out.

There’s a TV lounge with a DVD player and video games if you need to kill some time or meet other travelers. Wi-Fi is free everywhere. This is a solid, no-frills choice for anyone trying to see Rio without spending a fortune.

The location is excellent and very close to the beach; they have chairs to take to the beach, which is convenient and avoids spending money at the beach. Nana is an amazing person and always greeted us with a smile and great helpfulness.
