via Stay22About this place Casa Cool Beans
Casa Cool Beans, a guesthouse in Rio’s Santa Teresa, plants LGBTQ+ travelers in a bright purple, tile-roofed home base, ready for exploring the city.
You can’t miss the place. It's that distinctive bright purple building with the tile roof. From there, you're close enough to walk to local transit, but still tucked into Santa Teresa. Christ the Redeemer is about 8 km off, and Copacabana beach roughly 9 km.
The rooms feel airy, each with its own personality. You get an en suite bathroom (shower, tub, or both), free Wi-Fi, and a minifridge. Some rooms have hardwood floors, beamed ceilings, and local art. Duplex rooms with sleeping lofts give you more space. Don't expect a TV, though; they want you out in the neighborhood. A breakfast buffet comes daily, to get you going.
Santa Teresa itself is one of Rio's more creative neighborhoods, known for its bohemian vibe, street art, and independent galleries. It’s a good spot for LGBTQ+ visitors who want to see a bit of authentic Rio, away from the usual tourist circuit. You get a friendly, individualized place to stay, with plenty of local character.

An immersive experience in a mansion in Santa Teresa that is also a cultural center.
Newly renovated cultural center offering a variety of physical and cultural activities. The library is very inviting and offers book loans upon registration, as well as educational and cultural activities; I must highlight the excellent service provided by the librarians.
An incredible story of a woman who made a difference in the cultural history of Rio de Janeiro.
