We'd been told it was the best breakfast in Rio, and they weren't wrong. It was a truly spectacular experience: delicious dishes, impeccable presentation, and incredible views of the city center. Without a doubt, it was the most carefully prepared and special breakfast of all our stays in Brazil. We enjoyed it immensely. Keep it up, don't change a thing!
We gave them over two months' notice that we wouldn't be able to travel for health reasons (with supporting documentation). They refused a full refund. Completely unprofessional. Making money off a lack of customers is a little-known tactic!
A truly fantastic place to stay right in the heart of Rio, a wonderful oasis in the city! Attentive, incredibly friendly staff. Everything is beautifully decorated! The owners are always available and gave us excellent tips for Rio and the surrounding area. Every recommendation was worthwhile! 👌😎 We'll definitely be back. Without a doubt, the best place to stay during our entire trip to Brazil! 🙏
Unfortunately, we had several unpleasant experiences! The hotel itself is nice, but the owners' service was incredibly unfriendly. We arrived at the hotel at 1 p.m., check-in was at 2 p.m., and went to the pool to kill time. We were the only ones there! The owner came to us and told us we were only allowed to use two loungers instead of four and that we couldn't use the pool at all since check-in wasn't until after 2 p.m.! We lay on the water loungers for five minutes, and again: we were the only ones at the pool! At breakfast, the staff was yelled at in front of all the guests, accused of being incompetent, and the owner tried to "fix" everything, even moving the napkin by 3 mm. We left our room promptly at 11 a.m. and went to the pool until our flight. We were the only ones there. Then the owners came to us and seriously demanded 120 reais per person for using the pool! This is beyond brazen and a complete rip-off! Again: the hotel itself is very nice, but the owners are ruining everything! They want to be a boutique hotel, but the service is nonexistent!! We've never experienced anything like it, what a shame. We wouldn't book it again!
I can't understand the positive reviews, and thankfully we only stayed one night. Throughout our entire stay, we felt like unwelcome guests. A truly terrible experience with the hosts. We travel a lot, and this is the first hotel in many years that has a problem with us using the pool on both our arrival and departure days. Upon arrival, we were turned away because we arrived at 1 p.m., and check-in wasn't until 2 p.m. We spent that hour at the deserted (!!!) pool and were reprimanded for using the loungers in the water while our towels were on the sunbeds…again…there wasn't a single person at the pool who could have been bothered by it… On our departure day, we vacated our room promptly before 11 a.m. and then sat by the pool until 1 p.m. At that point, both owners approached us, saying that this wouldn't be allowed and that we would have to pay R$120 (!!!!) per person. The pool was deserted again. Our misconduct the day before, using the pool before check-in time, was clearly explained to us again. If you don't want guests on your property, you shouldn't open a hotel. I would understand if hotel guests were denied sun loungers for that reason, but given that there was no one else there, it seems they're just trying to squeeze money out of us. Furthermore, the owner repeatedly reprimanded the staff in front of all the guests at breakfast for inexplicable minor infractions. For example, he thought the napkin tie wasn't tight enough. They want to provide a luxurious experience, yet they themselves are incredibly rude. The staff, to be pitied, were always incredibly friendly and accommodating. The owners should consider settling down on a deserted island instead of running a hotel.
A fantastic resort with a beautiful pool and stunning views of Rio. The rooms are very comfortable. The breakfast was incredibly delicious; everything was freshly prepared. Thanks to the high security standards, we always felt very safe.
