I went to the bar with my partner on a Wednesday, excited to watch the drag show, expecting a great experience—especially since it's a bar in São Paulo, and as someone from São Paulo, I know that service in São Paulo usually strives for excellence. But the reality was extremely frustrating from beginning to end. Right from the start, something already struck us as odd: the drag queens interacted with all the tables—all of them—except ours. We tried to ignore it until then, but the situation became evident later when one of them approached us and asked: "Name a Black artist." At that moment, everything made sense. We looked around and realized that we were the only table composed entirely of Black people. At no point did we see white customers being approached with equivalent requests, such as "Name a white artist." This was not a simple coincidence or neutral dynamic: it was differential treatment based on our race. And that has a name—racism. The assumption that, because we are Black, we should limit ourselves or be directed to a certain type of cultural reference is reductionist, offensive, and unacceptable. It is even more disappointing to experience this type of situation in a space that should be inclusive and welcoming, like an LGBTQIA+ bar in Salvador. To make matters worse, the rest of the experience was equally bad. The all-you-can-eat service took an absurdly long time—more than 30 minutes for the first round to arrive at the table. The drinks also took a long time and were only mediocre. The service was unprepared, and at one point, we heard: "that's it, if you're not satisfied, leave." In the end, R$300 spent to leave with a feeling of disrespect, frustration, and indignation. An experience marked by racism and disregard. We will not return.
Best experience ever!!!!!! Nice safe clean and great drinks!
Upon arriving at the bar, I ordered the all-you-can-eat drinks and appetizers. The appetizers are great and well-served, the value for money is worthwhile. However, with the drinks, we had problems with the preparation time: more than 40 minutes of waiting for a glass. As the service only runs until 11 pm, it's difficult to justify the price paid. In addition to the difficulty in ordering from the staff, the long wait for delivery is discouraging.
