About this place The Week São Paulo

The Week São Paulo is one of the most important gay clubs in the world — a venue that has positioned São Paulo as a circuit party destination on the global map alongside New York, Amsterdam, and Barcelona. Located on Rua Guaicurus in the Lapa district, The Week operates at a scale that few gay venues anywhere can match: multiple floors, capacity in the thousands, a production budget that funds internationally booked headlining DJs, lighting and sound systems of the highest quality, and a weekly programme that draws visitors from across Latin America and beyond. The club format is the circuit party model — shirtless crowds, peak-hour main room energy, and a social world centred on physical display and shared musical experience — but executed at a level that makes even jaded circuit veterans take notice. The Week's New Year's Eve party is an annual institution: one of the most attended and most photographed gay club events in the Southern Hemisphere, a marker event on the international gay nightlife calendar. The regular Saturday programme — The Week proper — is similarly consistent. The club's position in Lapa, slightly removed from the Jardins gay village, is part of its identity: this is not a neighbourhood bar but a destination venue, and the journey to it is part of the event.

I expected a service compatible with the standard of a 5-star hotel, but my experience was negative. On 24/04/2026, around 11:55 p.m., I personally went to The Westin, as I was staying in a nearby hotel and wanted to know the rooms before deciding which category to book. I was taken care of by Cesar, who informed that the hotel was 100% occupied and therefore it was not possible to show me any rooms. I immediately asked, as on the hotel's own website and on the online platforms there were several options available for booking on the same date. The answer was even more surprising, he claimed that the website was in trouble and came to say that if I could make some online reservation, it would be cancelled immediately. He also said that there will only be availability from 28/04/2026. A few minutes after this conversation, I was able to normally book a diary and stayed at the hotel between 25 and 26/04/2026. The next day, I made a new reservation, this time for the period from 26 to 27/04/2026, totaling two nights in a hotel that was supposedly “100% occupied”. It was an extremely uncomfortable situation. I was embarrassed and even wondered if I was being treated with some kind of prejudice, because the justification presented simply did not make sense. Systems may fail, but a staff member at the hotel should have minimal knowledge about actual availability. The feeling was of neglect and lack of transparency, something incompatible with the pattern that is expected. The room experience was excellent, especially the mattress, which was simply the best among all the hotels I have stayed in to this day. The service of the other employees was also very good and compatible with the expected standard. Meanwhile, Cesar’s attitude ended up discrediting the experience as a whole and obscuring the positive aspects of hosting.

Very good hotel in Itaim, Super polite people. Very well cleaned rooms of a good size and very good bathroom. Excellent location in a quieter street. Parking is paid R$ 75.00 per day. In the rooms they leave 2 bottles of water courtesy, but in the reception there are types a few taps of filtered water available for you to fill the bottle.

After a long flight from the U.S. and a lengthy ride from the airport, arriving at the Westin São Paulo was a relief. Although our room wasn’t ready early, the front desk kindly offered breakfast vouchers and worked to get us checked in as soon as possible—which we truly appreciated. Our room was clean, comfortable, and perfect for our stay. The staff was outstanding, especially the front desk team and Salomon, the excellent bellman. Thank you for the warm hospitality, Westin São Paulo!

When searching for a hotel in São Paulo for after our cruise, we were searching for a good, safe hotel. The Westin São Paulo had a good Bonvoy points redemption option, and after reading the reviews, we chose to book. We had an excellent stay at The Westin São Paulo! The location was good, the food was great and the staff were excellent. It was one of the best hotel stays that we've ever had! When we arrived, we were permitted to check-in early (but opted out so that we could participate in a tour). The bellman swiftly collected our luggage for storage. Due to our Marriott status, shortly after check-in, the restaurant or hotel manager (did not get her name, but she was very kind) and Calvin brought brownies and cream puffs with a welcome note up to the room, which was a very personable touch. We were assigned Room 306, which is located right off of the elevator. Although there was not too much traffic during our stay, if you prefer not to have traffic from the elevator, request another room. Both the fitness center and pool are on the 3rd floor. The restaurant manager, Simone, was the best! She was attentive to our group, ensured that we had everything that we needed each morning at breakfast and was very professional. There were a variety of breakfast options (including frozen acai). We also dined at the hotel restaurant for dinner. The pork ribs were tasty (although the order only included 2 ribs!). Front desk agents, Leia and Vinicius, were extremely courteous and extremely helpful throughout our stay. The bellmen and valets were knowledgeable and always greeted us warmly. The hotel was extremely clean (perhaps because the hotel is less than a year old), well designed and we enjoyed exploring the various spaces. The gym is nice and always stocked with cold water and towels. The pool area, while not big, is a nice place to lounge. The hotel appears to be located near a business district, but is in walking distance (10-15 minutes) to banks, shops (e.g., Havaianas, Farm Rio and Kopenhagen Chocolates), supermarkets, a cinema and restaurants. There is a bus route near the area and there were always Ubers nearby. Although the location is not as central to local attractions as other hotels, if I am ever in São Paulo again, will definitely stay at The Westin São Paulo!

My stay at The Westin São Paulo was below expectations taking also into account the price of hotel. While the hotel is in a good location in a pleasant and safe neighborhood, several issues affected the overall experience. The room was clean, but the air conditioning was excessively strong in general area and making it uncomfortable. More importantly, the internet connection was unreliable and frequently dropped completely unacceptable for a business stay hotel. Breakfast was limited in selection, and although there was an outdoor area, guests were not allowed to have breakfast outside, which was disappointing and unnecessarily restrictive. Overall, despite the good location and cleanliness, the lack of reliable internet and limited amenities make it hard to recommend.
