Museu da Diversidade Sexual

I was invited to an exhibition and offered a fee of R$1,000 for FIVE YEARS of displaying my work. This isn't appreciation—it's pure exploitation. For comparison, museum employees themselves receive incomparably higher amounts for the same period. The museum uses the LGBT+ flag as a showcase, but doesn't fairly compensate the artists who build this space. This has a name: institutional queerbaiting. If you are LGBT+ and want to truly support queer art, go directly to the artists' studios. Don't feed institutions that profit from our identity without giving back to us.

The space is cozy but it's hidden inside the Republica metro station, and they have an extension at Av. São Luís 120 near the Itália building.

It's an incredible experience; the museum is a welcoming space that provides knowledge about the LGBTQIA+ community.

Easy access, inside the República metro station, excellent instructors with extensive knowledge, worth checking out and suitable for all audiences. Free.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find the museum. I have no idea where the entrance is. It's a shame, I would have liked to see the exhibition, but after searching for 30 minutes, I'd had enough.

Closed due to carnival for a lot of days. This should have been corrected on google prior till people like me ubering to get here’s also the location is weird.

Wonderful museum about the history of sexual diversity in Brazil. Compact but very thorough. It's in the metro station so it took a bit of persistence to locate. And so glad that I did. Wonderful.
