About this place Bar Asilo

Bar Asilo is a queer bar on the second floor of a building on Avenida Caracas at Calle 40A, on the Teusaquillo-Chapinero border. It has run since around 2012 as Bogotá's main LGBTQ+ spot for alternative music: punk, post-punk, goth and new wave, with live bands on some nights. Expect a younger, arty crowd rather than a pop-and-reggaeton club. It opens Friday and Saturday only, 9pm to 3am. Drinks are cheap, including local craft beer, and some nights have a small cover. Avenida Caracas is busy and rough at night, so take a taxi or app ride to the door.
