El Castillo Sauna

El Castillo is Medellín's budget workhorse: entry runs about 20,000 pesos, and for that you get a men-only sauna with a genuine range — bar, jacuzzi, swimming pool, dry sauna, Turkish steam bath, a proper cruising maze and a smoking zone. Few places in the Centro give you both a pool and a laberinto under one roof at that price. The week has two personalities. Monday to Thursday and Sunday it's a relaxed afternoon-and-evening sauna, open from two until midnight. Friday and Saturday it becomes something else entirely: doors stay open until six in the morning, and the place effectively functions as an after-party — that's when it's busiest and the energy peaks. Reviews praise the relaxed atmosphere and the weekend buzz; the honest complaints are about lockers running short on big nights, inconsistent service, thin towels and dim lighting in places. It sits at Carrera 45D #59-63 in La Candelaria, the gritty heart of the Centro — fine to visit, but apply the standard Medellín centre-at-night rules getting in and out: keep your phone down and take a taxi or app ride late.
