What reviewers say

Visitors frequently praise the Hotel Plaza Grande for its exceptional staff, beautiful rooms with classic elegance, and unbeatable location in the heart of Quito's historic center, offering lovely views. However, some guests have reported issues with amenities like non-functional jacuzzis and a lack of hot water, and a few feel the value for money is questionable given the price point.

Wonderful old world hotel in the heart of Quito. The staff were all lovely without exception. We arrived early in the morning and they dealt with us with grace and charm. Great breakfast and nice spot for dinner as well. If you are looking for a 5star in Quito, this is the place to be.

Beautiful and well-maintained rooms. Attentive and friendly staff. Unbeatable views and location. The restaurant food isn't that great.

As a photographer, the Hotel Plaza Grande is one of the most sophisticated locations to work in the Historic Center. The rooms boast classic elegance and abundant natural light, perfect for capturing flawless editorial portraits. Without a doubt, its strongest point is its terrace; it offers one of the most privileged and unobstructed views of Independence Square and the domes, ideal for sunset couple sessions. It's an extremely versatile venue for intimate weddings seeking a luxurious ambiance, with architectural backdrops that add significant visual impact to every shot. Highly recommended for those looking for a photographic record with a distinguished and timeless style.

Bad hotel, bad customer service. Four of us stayed here and wanted to use the jacuzzi in the rooms, but there was no hot water, not even for the showers! Their response was, "I don't know if maintenance is coming." It's been like this for three days—terrible! You can hear everything from 6:00 AM! It's not a cheap hotel, so the jacuzzi doesn't work.
