About this place K'uychi Ayllu

K'uychi Ayllu ('rainbow family' in Quechua) is Cusco's autonomous sexual-diversity collective, founded on 18 December 2015. It works on LGBTQ+ visibility, advocacy and community-building across the Cusco region — home to an estimated 60,000+ LGBTIQ+ people — where there is still no regional anti-discrimination ordinance. The collective is best known for organising the Marcha del Orgullo Cusco, the city's annual Pride march held each July, which gathers at Parque Mariscal Gamarra and proceeds down Avenida El Sol past the Qorikancha temple to the Plaza de Armas. K'uychi Ayllu keeps a deliberately low physical profile and coordinates mainly through its social-media channels; contact and event details are shared via its Facebook and Instagram pages.
