Lima Pride — Marcha del Orgullo LGBT+

Lima's Marcha del Orgullo is Peru's largest LGBTQ+ demonstration, and it is a protest march more than a street party. Peru has no same-sex unions and no gender-identity law, so the placards are political. The Colectivo Marcha del Orgullo Perú organises it each year on the last Saturday of June, and the Municipalidad Metropolitana de Lima has to authorise it. In 2026 that approval took months: in April, Congresswomen Susel Paredes and Ruth Luque publicly demanded an answer from the city, according to Infobae.

The march gathers on Avenida de la Peruanidad at Campo de Marte in Jesús María from the morning and sets off in the afternoon. It loops through the historic centre along Garcilaso de la Vega, Nicolás de Piérola, Alfonso Ugarte and Guzmán Blanco before returning to Campo de Marte. Streets close and the Metropolitano reroutes, so walk or take a taxi to the edge of the area. Bring water and sun protection, and keep your phone close in the crowd.

The 2026 march took place on Saturday, June 27, with the main march starting at 3pm. Kenji Fujimori was among those who walked. Peruvian media described the crowd as thousands but nobody gave an official count. The 2027 date hadn't been announced when we checked.
