I’m convinced Lizzy Wasi is heaven on earth. The only way I can describe it is closing your eyes, taking a deep breath in—fresh air, birds singing, wildflowers blowing gently in the breeze, a warm hug—then opening your eyes to a literal rainbow and realizing life truly imitates art. When you arrive, you drive down a little dirt alleyway and have no idea what’s waiting on the other side. Then the gates open and suddenly you’re standing in an oasis, like you’ve wandered into a watercolor painting. Aside from the stunning property, the staff is incredibly welcoming and accommodating. On our first night, we had neighbors who were a little noisy, and after bringing it to the manager’s attention, he immediately offered to move us to a different room. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully designed. The food was great and a reliable option when we didn’t feel like heading into town. There’s also a yoga studio, along with two resident alpacas, Amaru and Rumi, and even a few friendly cats roaming the grounds. The location was ideal as well—close enough to town to explore restaurants and shops, while still feeling peaceful and tucked away. We also found it to be a great home base for hiking and exploring the Sacred Valley. The hour-long drive from Cusco was absolutely worth it. The pictures do not do this place justice. Lizzy Wasi has a way of making you slow down and appreciate life. I could probably write a short story about this place, but I’ll leave it here for the sake of time and so as not to bore anyone. I will absolutely be back the next time I’m in Perú!
