No hotel in San Pedro de Atacama markets itself as gay, but the village lives on international tourism and Chilean law bars hotels from turning away a same-sex couple. Ask for una cama matrimonial (a double bed) when you book.
In the village: Terrantai Lodge is a restored adobe house on Tocopilla next to the church. Hotel Jardín Atacama and Pascual Andino are a block from the plaza, and Hotel Kimal sits at the corner of Caracoles. For less money, try Don Raúl on Caracoles or Hostal San Pedro.
All-inclusive lodges: Awasi gives each room its own guide and vehicle, Explora runs its own hikes and rides, and Tierra Atacama faces the Licancabur volcano. Alto Atacama is a few kilometres out in the Catarpe valley.
