The organisation has had problems. On the morning of 7 August 2022 it cancelled the parade at 9:17 a.m., only hours before the start. It first blamed a shortage of security volunteers. La Presse later reported that the organisation had forgotten to hire about 100 paid security staff, and director general Simon Gamache said he took full responsibility. People held their own marches across the city that afternoon. Gamache has since left, and Higino Monteiro ran the 2026 edition as interim director general. Security was increased in 2026 after the attack at Berlin Pride.

The 2026 festival ran from 31 July to 9 August under the theme "Brillons ensemble!" The organisers' wrap-up counted more than a million participations across all activities. That is a total of visits, not a headcount of individual people. For the parade they reported nearly 20,000 marchers and over 200,000 spectators. The 2027 dates hadn't been announced when we checked.
