The best vintage friendly and no pressure spa

What sets this bathhouse apart is something increasingly rare: it hasn’t tried to reinvent itself. The 1970s Russian bathhouse bones are intact — and that’s exactly the point. It has authenticity that your typical bathhouse doesn’t. Sometimes I come for a quiet steam and keep entirely to myself — no one bother you, no one expects anything. Or let the evening unfold naturally. Both are equally valid, and the vibe accommodates both without tension. Pro tip: Tuesday evenings are the sweet spot. It starts with an older, quieter crowd — unhurried, unpretentious — and then somewhere around mid-evening, the energy shifts. A younger crowd filters in, and suddenly you’ve got a genuinely mixed room spanning 20s through 50s and a good looking crowd. It’s one of those rare nights where the age range actually works in the room’s favour.

You have to choose the right days to come to this place its a whole different world from the saunas in the gay village not that i want to put those places down A take you back in time oldest sauna -spa in Montreal i am glad they kept it to its original look as much as possible Personally i like a little less crowded so at this one i prefer early week Other days in evenings it can turn into a bunch of snoots- - others in denial even wondering what theyre even doing there -as well other intellectuals getting together for the same boring conversation about lord knows what else! If you can handle all of that then go for the days outside of the week start As well the staff are super nice and its very affordable at that one price where you can spend close to an entire half day!

A different, authentic space where people don't beat around the bush. For people coming from elsewhere, it might seem a little strange, but you quickly see how the atmosphere works.
