Fierte de Quebec
About This Event
Fierté de Québec happens every year on Labour Day weekend, kicking off September. It started around 2005 as the Fête Arc-en-ciel and switched to its current name for its 20th anniversary in 2024. The Alliance Arc-en-ciel de Québec runs the show.
It’s smaller than the big coastal parades, mostly free, and strictly French-speaking. The action sticks to Place D'Youville and rue Saint-Jean. You’ll find outdoor stages, a karaoke night, talks, and support activities. In 2026, the lineup includes Glamoustache, marking the festival’s first drag king night. The solidarity march departs Place D'Youville on Sunday afternoon. Radio-Canada pegs attendance at hundreds of people annually; we couldn’t find an official count.
The 2026 edition runs September 4 to 6, with the march on Sunday, September 6, at 1pm. Organisers told Radio-Canada they coordinate security with city police and handle online hate daily. No incident has directly harmed participants in Quebec City. As of our check, 2027 dates weren’t announced, but expect it to land on Labour Day weekend again.
