Quadrangle NL

Quadrangle NL is Newfoundland and Labrador's 2SLGBTQIA+ community centre, located at 16 Forest Road just east of downtown St. John's. It opened as a dedicated queer safe space in 2023 and has quickly become the main gathering point for the province's LGBTQ+ community, offering drop-in hours, peer support, social programming, and a welcoming place to connect. With Velvet — the city's last gay bar — closing in early 2025, the Quad is now the practical heart of queer life in St. John's. It hosts community events and acts as a first point of contact for newcomers and visitors looking to plug into the local scene. Run as a registered non-profit, it holds a perfect five-star Google rating from the people who use it. You can reach the centre at 709-769-2355 or find current drop-in hours at thequadnl.com.
