Quiet , rooms really dated , no windows to open , smoking problem at doorways , butts everywhere

Come on In sleep with bed bugs and lice o we also take pets but the will get sick and might get killed by oner Come on in try out food and get food samannlla I am not kidding

They say they allow dogs but in their policies it's a $150 fee for the dog. The room was $164+ tax ...of course they allow dogs since you're essentially renting the dog it's own room. Absolutely brutal surprise upon arrival but of course the cancellation fee is the cost of one night's stay so....trapped us good Guv'nor! The air conditioner didn't work. The person at the front desk and at the bar were both very kind though.

Breakfast was delicious

I was on my solo journey across Canada. And Guv'nor was my choice of staying in St.John's Newfoundland! The place is old and English style which i adored. The room is spacious, clean and have all you need for a comfortable stay! The stuffs are friendly and woth warmth, who showed great Newfoundland hospitality with open heart and warm chat! The complimentry breakfast has great selection and best ever! The moose sausages and traditional breakfast are delicious as well. I literally had dinners at the inn's pub as well, there onion rings and cod burger is sp tastety! Though the location is little distance from the downtown, the price is unbeatable and hey, the walk is enjoyable as well. I have fell in love with Newfoundland. And St.John's is my favorite city in whole Canada! I will be back. And when I do, I will be back at the Guv 'nor Inn&Pub! Thank you for the awesome experience !

May 6th, 2026. Rooms are filthy and beds have some type of fleas in them! Front desk had to keep finding a ‘clean’ room to put me in for the night. Settled on one with dirty floors and subsequently some type of fleas in the bed (same innanother room). Floors disgusting in all rooms as well. Absolutely horrible experience, do not recommend anyone stay here.

First time in St. Johns, the inn has clean rooms and great staff. Price for the rooms are reasonable. The pub prices are a bit high, although every restaurant in this city seems high. The moose sausage breakfast is $21 as of May 2026. Beer is $11. It was tasty but at the price it's not an immediate repeat. Location is quiet enough. It is a 30 min walk to the harbour area so have a car. The laundry is $1.50 for wash or dry. I found the dryer didn't dry very well. Clothes still damp after 45 mins.
