Acacia Boutique Hotel

First off, the pictures they post on booking sites do not do this place justice. It is truly a beautiful hotel and looks better than the pictures. I booked a room with a balcony and was given presumably the worst room on the first floor. It was in the corner and the window as blocked by a wall. That was extremely disappointing and frustrating because the woman at the desk didn't give me the room I booked, even after showing her. Aside from that she was very nice and I don't think it was her fault. The room was dirty and the floor definitely hadn't been cleaned in a while. The bathroom is okay but there was no hot water. The location was fine and walkable. It was right at the beach which was nice. My partner and I went to the pool around 7:30pm and no one was there. It was lovely and the pool is really great. It was beautiful and warm. There were several cute rooms overlooking the pool and we could see the rooms with the balcony. This was a decent stay but I can say that if we got the room we booked I would give this a higher rating I'm sure.

Everything was great Our room was nice and cozy Housekeeping kept our room clean, Smelling good The beach it right there not far There restaurant has Amazing food Only thing I didn't like was the stairs But I'll be definitely going back I stayed there last week

I want to start off to say I came as a solo women traveler. This hotel is everything you need if you want to truly experience the feel of the island. The hospitality was amazing the front staff Jhan made me feel very welcomed. There is a lot of heart and energy in that hotel that gives it that welcoming feeling. You feel like you are staying at a house rather than a hotel. I truly felt like I got to experience living like an islander for the time I was there. There is plenty to explore in walking distance. The beach is steps away from the front door of the hotel. It has beautiful shaded areas or open sun areas whatever your vibe is. Yes the water might not be hot in the hotel but… we are on an island where it’s hot all the time a luke warm shower hits different. After talking to many locals I hear that hot water lacking is common on the island. The way the building is built it clearly is able to retain coolness because i only used my ac at night. After exploring the beautiful area all day i would come back to my room and it was pleasantly cool without the ac. I have seen other people claiming they don’t clean your room. That is false they cleaned my room and gave me fresh towels daily. If your looking for luxury this is not the vibe for you if you are looking to experience Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 authenticity like a islander. This is your location. My experience at the Hotel Acacia was terrible, and I honestly don't understand how this place is still operating. From the moment we arrived, customer service was nonexistent. No one answers, no one solves problems, and it seems like no one cares. The room was incomplete: there were no towels (unbelievable in a hotel!), and when we asked, the response was basically a shrug. The restaurant was closed without any notice, leaving us with no options within the hotel. We asked for extra pillows and were told there weren't any, without any attempt to help or find a solution. To top it all off, the hotel has NO parking, which is a huge problem and they never make that clear. You have to figure it out on your own, as if that were the guest's responsibility. In short: poor service, poor organization, zero service, and zero comfort. Definitely one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. Couldn't ask for anything better! 30 seconds and you are at the beach! Love the architecture of the rooms and the hotel as a whole. Plan on staying here a third time soon! Very quiet, relaxing, and good staff!

Room had a leaky ceiling and the shower was leaking as well. Pretty noisy if you’re on a lower floor since there’s a restaurant and people are going in and out all of the time. Otherwise, good location for beach. Pool is heated so not exactly refreshing. Travelled solo and felt safe.

Completely disappointed. Excellent location 50 steps from the ocean with extremely small rooms with no space for luggage. With not working pool,with coffee machine doesn't work, with safe locker placed in the bathroom and doesn't work and no any sound isolation.

Right on a nice Beach, loads of character, excellent restaurant. Comfortable beds. Nice but Small, heated sitting pool with a small pool in their sister hotel. 20 minute Uber or taxi ride to Old Town. Uber is less expensive., several nice restaurants within five blocks. Breakfast right in the hotel is wonderful and just slightly more expensive than other places but well worth it, otherwise, great breakfasts at playa papaya which is about five blocks easy walk. Free bus to Old Town if you have an hour to wait for it, bus stop on first main Street.

Know Before You Book !! Called early in the day asking for early check in— reception took our number said they would call—never did. Arrived and were able to leave luggage and go to the beach. They provided two beach towels! Once in our room air conditioning was excellent! Our “ocean view” was a sliver but no problem as the beach proximity was less than a minute walk so we didn’t need a view! Also because of the configuration of the rooms if we wanted to see the ocean our curtains were fully open and everyone walking by had a full view of our room! The linens were clean and the bed was adequate, the pillows were not comfortable but we were okay with that! The room was never serviced during our stay when we asked for a change of towels we received 1 washcloth,1 hand towel and 2 bath towels—placed on our bed in a pile—trash was never emptied. I had to find a broom to sweep our sandy floor! The water supply to the bathroom was NOT reliable. At times NO water would come from shower or sink. And when water was available the hot water was scarce—cold showers four days in a row was a little hard to take! The website stated the hotel had beach chairs, umbrellas and towels—NO chairs or umbrellas provided! We rented 2 chairs and an umbrella for $20 daily, from a beach vendor. Coffee in the lobby and room were Kcups and you had to ask for some everyday as they were limited —only 2 available! As for the rooftop hot tub it was only functioning one day so we never used it! The sister hotel around the corner was available for pool access. Small but a nice change! We must give Kudos to the receptionist all (but one ) were helpful and friendly! Jon was by far the best thing about our whole experience at Acacia—helped us get TV to work so we could watch the Olympics, found coffee cups and was happy and helpful every time we worked with him!! I understand and appreciate PR has very challenging infrastructure issues and the water supply is a real problem. That said, we have traveled to other Central American countries and vacationed happily with limited resources— the residences were honest and truthful regarding their facilities so we were prepared. Last year in Old San Juan our hotel site made it very clear that water supply is difficult and plumbing is fragile —all good because they were up front and honest! Acacia needs to update their website and come clean with the services they provide—like no room refresh!

Amazingly attractive, quite, tranquil and sophisticated hotel, in a great location. I want to thank front desk staff Bryan for assisting me checking in late and recommending places to eat and drink. So professional and courteous. Highly recommended.
