Albuquerque PrideFest
About This Event
Albuquerque PrideFest is organized by Albuquerque Pride, which dates the city's pride march to a small group of marchers in 1976. Since 2025 it has been a downtown event: the festival left the Expo New Mexico fairgrounds for Civic Plaza.
It works as a morning parade plus an afternoon festival. In 2026 the parade stepped off at 10am on Central Avenue, the old Route 66, running from Wellesley Drive to San Mateo Boulevard through Nob Hill. The board president said more than 150 entries had registered, the most in the group's history. PrideFest then ran at Civic Plaza from 1:30 to 8:30pm with vendors and a stage headlined by Ada Vox and Drag Race's Eureka and Shannel. A Pride Day at the Rail Yards Market followed on the Sunday.
June in Albuquerque is hot, dry and high (the city sits above 1,500 meters), so bring water and sun protection for the parade. The Nob Hill stretch of Central, with its cafes and bars, is the easiest place to watch.
The 2026 edition was on June 13 under the theme 'Unity: None of us are free until we are all free.' Organizers expected thousands but published no count. The 2027 dates hadn't been announced when we checked.
