My 83 year-old mom and I stayed in a deluxe cabin, which provided plenty of privacy with divided sleeping quarters. Wrong way is located centrally to all parts of Asheville; we easily accessed West Asheville and downtown. Clean and cute. The canteen is also a wonderful bonus for snacks and beverages. I especially appreciated the owners' mindfulness toward creating a sustainable (ex. bins for recycling and trash) and peaceful experience. Highly recommend.
We stayed here for my son's wedding (the whole wedding party and even guests) back in April. The cabins were adorable and the staff was wonderful. I do want to add something even MORE special. Sadly, I had lost one of my diamond earrings and I was pretty sure I had lost it in the cabin. I e mailed them asking if possibly they may have found it. I heard back immediately that they found it and it's on its way to me now! I am so very thankful for everything they did to accommodate us and also for taking the time to search for my earring as well as mail it back to me. THANK YOU, I'd highly recommend staying here! :) :) :)
Holy Smokes this place was awesome!! I took my kiddos (6 & 8) for a weekend in the mountains. Snacks (for them) and coffee (for me) galore in the beautiful Lodge! We did the boys' first official "river trip" just steps from Wrong Way along the French Broad River. After that we snagged our bikes and rode to the River Arts District for dinner. Time in the A-Frame was spent playing board games and listening to classic vinyls (on the in-room record player!). We rode bikes to breakfast the next day after a lazy morning hanging from the included hammocks! 100 out of 10, would recommend!
Wrong Way has been a steady touchpoint for our mental health non-profit (Bright Shadow) over the years. We've hosted community workshops there... for people processing grief and emotional dysregulation in the wake of Hurricane Helene. We needed a space that could hold something real. The Eddy room did exactly that. There's an energy on campus that's hard to manufacture. It's warm, unpretentious, and genuinely connected to the river and greenway in a way that matters when you're doing work that asks people to slow down and feel something. The staff has been consistently welcoming every time we've walked in the door. We also used the Board Room for our quarterly board meeting last night. It did not disappoint and was an incubator for deep work and connection. Wrong Way isn't just a place to stay or a venue. It's a soulful place, and for an organization like ours, that's the key. -Chris Gragtmans, Executive Director, Bright Shadow
The place is perfect. Super cute, stand alone A-frames with balconies overlooking a park by the river. Location is convenient to everything you’d want to do in the area without being downtown where the rental would be 3x the price. Rooms are spacious with hip album collections, coffee make and mini-fridge. Stayed on two separate occasions, once in pet friendly room and once in no pet room. Both were perfectly clean and fresh. Cool common building “canteen” where you can buy essentials or Wrong Way schwag
This place is such a eclectic, romantic, convenient place to stay in Asheville, convenient to downtown and the River Arts District, as well as to destinations such as Biltmore and the Blue Ridge Parkway. We especially love the lodge with fresh locally-roasted coffee, a grand selection of cold beverages for all times (and occasions), plenty of creative souvenirs to take home, and the view out over the French Broad. The event spaces are perfect for bespoke gatherings, and the special touches in the cabins make for super unique memories. This spot is definitely one of a kind!
Wrong way is the perfect combo of experience, location, vibe, and convenience in Asheville. It's right on the banks of the French Broad River next to Carrier Park with the Biltmore property and it's spacious grounds directly across the river. This gives you a mountain retreat vibe super close to the river arts district and downtown. I live in Asheville and I've used it as a "staycation" site and event location several times. Highly recommended!
