Carolina Beach Inn

We stayed 5 nights at the Carolina Beach Inn. Really like the contactless check in and out. Room was clean and the bed was probably the most comfortable we've slept in on any vacation. We enjoyed getting a suite with a separate bedroom. Traveling with dogs makes extra space that much better. Love that the Inn is dog-friendly! Just wish the other people with dogs would have kept them on leash in the back yard, but that is no fault of the inn. Two blocks from the beach and boardwalk, and a short walk to eat at all of the options. We only got in the car once when we went to the state park! We loved the CB Inn and would definitely stay there again!

Roach infested motel, and upon letting staff know they were very rude with me. Simply stating “It is nature and a bug is a bug”. Do yourself a favor and spend your money at a hotel that invests in exterminators

We tried calling all day to make a reservation and no one answers the phone or returns a call, beware! What if we needed help while we were there since the website says no front desk? We booked at another place that has a front desk.

We stayed at the Carolina Beach Inn for one night on a Saturday, and overall it was a clean, tidy, and convenient place for a short stay near the beach. The location is one of its biggest strengths—just a few blocks from the Carolina Beach boardwalk, restaurants, shops, and the beach itself. Being able to walk everywhere was a huge plus. Check‑in and communication were smooth and modern. Passcodes for the room and all other details were texted to us ahead of time, and when my wife sent a question, she received a helpful response shortly after. Checkout was just as easy. Our bottom‑floor unit was clean and everything was in working order. The small back deck with a table and chairs opened into a courtyard area that also included a spot for pets, which is great for anyone traveling with animals. Inside, the living room had a couch, a table with four chairs, and a Roku TV. I appreciated that you can sign into your own streaming apps and the system automatically signs you out at checkout. Lighting could be improved, though—two lamps on one side left the table area noticeably dark. The kitchenette setup worked well for a short stay. We had a mini fridge with freezer, toaster, Keurig with plenty of coffee, cream, and sweeteners, plus a microwave and some cabinet space. There’s no sink outside the bathroom, so keep that in mind if you plan to prep food. The bedroom was comfortable with another Roku TV and a closet for clothes. The window A/C unit is located in the bedroom and cools the entire space. It worked fine, but the door to the back deck could use a darker covering—the outdoor light is on a sensor and kept turning on and off throughout the night, which woke me up a few times. The bathroom was clean with plenty of towels, a small shelf at the sink, and a shelf unit above the toilet for toiletries. There were dispensers for lotion, hand soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. The shower stall was small but clean. Water pressure was okay, but the hot water was lacking. My wife had a moment where the water suddenly got chilly, and when I showered, the water was warm but never truly hot even with the dial turned all the way up. Lighting in the bathroom also felt dim—one bulb looked like it needed to be replaced. A towel bar would be a great addition since there were only a few hooks that didn’t work well for hanging anything. Heating and cooling are handled by the bedroom A/C unit and a couple of space heaters—there’s no central system—but there are ceiling fans in both the living room and bedroom. Parking is something to seriously consider. There are only a few free spots directly in front of the inn, and they’re first‑come, first‑served. Paid parking is nearby, but during peak season this could easily become a challenge. Their website explains the parking situation under the terms and conditions, and it’s definitely worth reading before booking. As for noise, the building is older, so expect some creaks and footsteps. We didn’t hear loud talking or music, but being on the bottom floor meant we heard plenty of footsteps above us and the stairway creaking whenever someone used it. If noise bothers you, a top‑floor room may be a better choice. Outdoor noise was normal and not disruptive. Overall, it’s a clean and tidy place with a great location and responsive communication. There are a few areas that could be improved, but nothing that ruined the stay. My wife and I agreed we would stay here again, though it wouldn’t necessarily be our first pick.

What a cute unique Inn!!!! We enjoyed a weekend here last week. We booked a efficiency room but ended up upgrading to a suite since we had our 2 large dogs with us. The location is perfect, park and walk everywhere. Love the old historic hardwood floors and vintage fridges. Very charming! No front desk but Molly was amazing and responded quickly! We actually enjoyed not having to check in and out at a front office or having to worry about returning a key.

Booking, and entry to building / self check in process was easy. Cute building and area. Service and location great Giving 2 stars only for the fact that there is absolutely no sound proofing in the room we were in #6 Got to our room without luggage simply to take a nap before getting luggage, and spending time around town. We stayed in our room for just around 2 hours. You can hear people in room next to us struggling to plug something to wall outlet. At first I was like, okay hopefully we cant hear much otherwise. Other guests revved truck engines outside. Other guests also were loud, and many dogs running through the hallways. Its just a lot of noise happening We got anxious everytime we heard noises just getting closer to our door. Now, I cant give 1 star because we were trying to nap between 4pm and 6pm. Thats not quiet hours, I understand but to me if it's this noisy now I don't want to hear it when it's actual sleep time. I felt like like I was just in a bedroom in someone's house not a hotel room. I just decided to take a loss on the money I paid for this room since we booked it the day of arrival. And we went up the road around 7pm to spark by Hilton instead.
