About this place Leons Backroom Bar

Leons Backroom Bar is one of the oldest gay bars in the United States, with more than six decades of history serving the Baltimore LGBTQ+ community. Located on West Chase Street in the heart of the city, this venue has established itself as a beloved local gathering space where everyone is welcome. The bar offers a variety of entertainment options throughout the week. Karaoke nights are held on Tuesdays from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sundays from 9 p.m. to midnight, giving you chances to take the mic and have fun with friends. On Saturdays, a live DJ keeps the energy up from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., and the venue hosts a monthly drag show at 10 p.m., providing another reason to return. For those who prefer a more relaxed vibe, the bar features an AMI Jukebox, allowing guests to curate their own soundtrack throughout the day. Baltimoreans and visitors alike can take advantage of daily happy hour from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., making it a convenient spot to stop by after work or before heading out for the evening. The friendly bartenders here are known for their welcoming service, contributing to the neighborhood feel that has kept this institution thriving. Great place to listen to music and grab a bite with a drink. Everyone was more than satisfied with the food. Wings of all flavors were juicy, crispy and delicious and the key lime pie was so good a 2nd one was bought; fried oreos were yummy too

The best thing about this bar is Karen! She is an amazing bartender. She knows how to make drinks, she can work the bar with ease, and she remembers the preferred drink of the regulars while she helps new customers. I hope they know what a gem of a bartender they have in Karen.
