About this place Hotel Revival Baltimore

Hotel Revival Baltimore occupies a landmark position on West Monument Street in Mount Vernon — within walking distance of Grand Central, the Drinkery, and Leon's, in the geographical heart of Baltimore's gay neighbourhood. The hotel's design is deliberately engaged with Mount Vernon's cultural and artistic character: the interior aesthetic reflects the neighbourhood's arts institutions, historic architecture, and the creative professional population that has chosen to live there. The hotel is explicitly LGBTQ+-welcoming — the ownership and management understand their neighbourhood and have built a hospitality culture that reflects Mount Vernon's queer identity rather than treating it as incidental. The rooftop bar has views over Mount Vernon Place and the original Washington Monument that make it one of the neighbourhood's better elevated drinking spaces. The location's walkability is the primary practical advantage: LGBTQ+ visitors who stay at the Revival can walk to every significant venue in Baltimore's gay scene without requiring a car or rideshare. For visitors who want to be genuinely embedded in the Mount Vernon neighbourhood rather than staying downtown or near the Inner Harbor and making excursions to the gay district, the Hotel Revival is the obvious choice.

Hotel Revival has its issues, but I loved it anyway. The loudest issue was the AC, which made the doors vibrate when it came on. We asked for a different room, but it was hardly better. The room felt damp, and towels and sweaty clothes never dried (I know, Baltimore, but still). We asked for a turndown only once during our 6-night stay, but it didn't happen (felt sad to see a housekeeper practically running between rooms at 5pm). It's an old building, and you don't have to wander far to see how down-and-out Baltimore is. But the place is so Charming! Everyone is unusually friendly without being cloying. The rooms feel large and naturally laid out, with lots of thoughtful storage options. All the spaces are gorgeously designed, appointed with beautiful mid-century art and furniture, which is the real victory. Fitness room is small and windowless, but it had the treadmill, mat, weights, and amenities I needed. Topside Restaurant is worth the high prices for unparalleled views and excellent service. Revival is a unique hotel that makes a person feel more like a Person.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was aesthetically pleasing. The staff were very accommodating and the morning parking valet Walter was just so kind!

This place is horrible. They don't know how to run a hotel.

Hotel was overbooked. They walked us to another hotel for one of our two nights. Couldn’t honor an early check in for the one night we are “welcomed” back. So don’t have a room from 11-3. Completely unacceptable but hey the manager apologized.
