About this place Bedford Plaza Hotel - Boston

The Bedford Plaza Hotel is a mainstream suburban hotel on Great Road (Route 4/225) in Bedford, Massachusetts, listed here as gay-friendly rather than as a gay venue. Despite "Boston" in the name, it is roughly 25 km north-west of downtown, close to Hanscom Field and the Route 128 tech corridor, which is who it mostly serves: business travellers, conference guests and people visiting Lexington and Concord. Google reviewers give it 3.4 across more than 900 reviews, so expect a functional rather than polished stay. You will want a car; public transport into Boston from here is slow.

I stayed at this hotel for four nights in Jun 2026, and my experience was extremely disappointing and concerning. In the early morning of June 19, 2026, at approximately 4:00 a.m., multiple police officers entered the hotel and a shooting occurred involving a person inside the room. Probablyhe he was a guest. This was a very disturbing and frightening experience for guests. The area surrounding the hotel felt unsafe, with a significant presence of drug activity, homeless individuals, and people loitering around the property. Throughout my stay, I observed what appeared to be several maintenance, cleanliness, and safety issues that were not being properly addressed. The staff showed little concern when problems were raised. The front desk appeared to be staffed primarily by students who seemed to have limited knowledge and were unable to provide meaningful assistance when needed. Based on my experience, I did not feel safe staying at this hotel and would not recommend it to others. Travelers looking for a secure, clean, and professionally managed property should consider other accommodations. Please don't stay in this property as per my recommendation.

I wanted to cancel the moment I arrived but they wouldn’t give my money back so I stayed. I had to listen to some big mouth in the next room talking so loudly in the next room all night. I couldn’t even watch tv in peace or sleep early after a long day of traveling. I wish I read the reviews before I booked this stay. They really have paper thin walls I can hear every word that big mouth was saying. The Internet Is horrible and so is the phone service in the area. I couldn’t even use my laptop it took so long to do anything. Black mold around the bathroom sink, window blinds broken, stains on couches and rug, rips on the couch, and the closet door ripped off.

It’s a dump, hasn’t been updated since inception. Pool has no water in it(false advertising with the pictures). Breakfast was a joke
