Palmer House Hilton

We stayed at the Palmer for one night. We upgraded our room to a king-size bed, as the standard rooms feature full-size beds. The lobby interior is beautiful, but the rooms themselves appear dated and could be cleaned better. There were tons of hair in our room, towels had stains, and one pillow had black stains. The shower head loses pressure sometimes, making it difficult to shower properly, and there's water damage on the ceiling because there's no vent fan to get rid of the moisture. I had asked the front desk if there was an area I could use a microwave. The guy told me he'd send me one to my room. I thought that was convenient. But he did NOT mention about any upcharge. And he did not mention where I could find one. I later discovered a microwave was in the ICE ROOM. However, I was charged $50 for its rental, which was not communicated to me beforehand. The lack of transparency regarding additional charges reflects a shortcoming in customer service. While my stay was solely for business purposes, I will not be returning. The reviews on here clearly demonstrate a lack of care for customers.

This legendary Chicago landmark dazzles with its stunning lobby — ornate frescoed ceilings, sparkling chandeliers, and exquisite marble details create pure old-world elegance. Every corner radiates over 150 years of preserved history and architectural grandeur. A must-see masterpiece. We left enchanted and can’t wait to return! Highly recommended!

We stayed here this past weekend. The lobby is beautiful! Service was friendly. Unfortunately, our room was a bit run down. Chipped corners on furniture, wallpaper peeling, mold in the shower handle and the shower kept backing up. The beds were incredibly comfortable though. For the price and outward look of the hotel I expected a higher quality.

Why the one star? Hilton is now allowing scam artists in their lobby, posing as hotel front desk staff. They sit outside the front desk, offering to check you out, and offer you a deal that is too hard to pass up and disguising it as part of joining into Hilton Honors. When you look into it further, it's a timeshare scheme where you're going to either have to entertain their nonsense or pay full price in the end anyways, and they make it hard to get a refund if you figure this out before you try to use it. This is very low for a brand like Hilton. Decent hotel. Will never touch Hilton again until they correct this issue.

I had a wonderful and easy stay - was here for a work conference and the staff were helpful and courteous. It’s also in a great location with easy access to nearby attractions. Would recommend!

The absolute worst place to host a job fair.

Bebe with HGV was amazing and so helpful. Everyone I met at the hotel was so positive and informative. Beautiful hotel and amenities.

I just check-out of my room, I have to if not I will stay forever!!!! I gotta say, it is a dream walking in and stepping in the lobby 🤩. Starstruck!!! Is giantic and magnificent, I wish I wasn't too tired too sit down and just stare and enjoy every inch of the lobby, truly a sight. Service was amazing, prior a week of my arrival everyone responded and answered my questions (through text). Housekeeping, kind and courteous. Restaurant and food area, did not have time to check or order. I'm sure will be delighted! Now the rooms, are smaller than other Hilton I've stayed but for single or couple will work great. Con: Bathroom well lit but too small and the design of the door annoying, while sitting on the toilet the door will hit or missed you. - I didn't for me, I hit my toe. My view was brick walls, and tiny bit sad but that's okay I just needed for sleeping instead of driving back home. Some small appliances can be upgraded like hairdryer but minimal. Location, BEST. Is closer to everything or walking distance, food places; franchise or not. Plenty to go see or visit, public transportation or not.
