Chicago Pride 2026
About This Event
Chicago Pride is one of North America's biggest, drawing over a million people to Halsted Street in Boystown every June. That's America's first officially recognized gay neighborhood.
The parade runs over three miles, through Wrigleyville and Boystown. Floats, community groups, and corporate contingents roll past crowds on sidewalks and balconies. It’s a crush.
Beyond the parade, there’s the Halsted Market Days festival, other events in the North Halsted business district, and a Pride Block Party up in Andersonville. Chicago in June can be glorious, and when it is, the lakefront becomes a natural setting for satellite parties and post-parade meetups.
Chicago Pride started in 1970. It still feels like a neighborhood party, not a formal event. People in Boystown lean out their windows, pack their rooftops. It's that kind of atmosphere.
