Mon Ami Gabi serves French bistro classics in Lincoln Park.
Named for chef Gabino Sotelino, this LGBTQ+-friendly spot does French onion soup, trout grenobloise, and steak frites, along with lighter things like crepes and quiches. They do wine by the glass or bottle from a rolling cart, which makes it easy to try a few different French wines with your meal.
Chicago's a welcoming city for LGBTQ+ diners, and this place feels relaxed. You get traditional French cooking without any fuss.
It’s at 2300 North Lincoln Park West. A good option if you want French comfort food or just a pleasant night out.

Eric/Erik was the best! He was so attentive and really made our dining experience special. He knew what we needed before we even asked and made sure we were having the best possible experience. The food was also amazing! Overall such an amazing dining experience.
Michael was fantastic! He was welcoming from the moment we arrived, checked on us regularly without being intrusive, and made sure everything was perfect. His recommendations were spot-on, and his friendly personality made the experience memorable. We hope to be served by him again!
We celebrated the end of May at a favorite city spot of mine, Mon Ami Gabi, and loved that our best server Michael waited on us! He was attentive, charming, and thoughtful about our requests/needs, as usual, and his recommendations were 🤌🏼! Dinner was delicious and Michael was amazing!!
