About this place Sushisamba Rio

Sushisamba Rio brings Japanese-Peruvian fusion to Chicago, serving up inventive dishes and cocktails on North Wells Street. It's a contemporary spot downtown, the kind of place that works for a low-key dinner or when you actually want to mark an occasion. Expect original dishes that pull from both culinary traditions, plus cocktails just as creative. The restaurant is gay-friendly, which feels right at home in Chicago. The city's always been big on good food and open hospitality, and Sushisamba Rio just continues that. This isn't a one-off; it's part of a restaurant group with other locations in major cities. So, they know what they're doing. If you're looking for something a bit more than your usual weeknight meal, with clever drinks and an upscale-but-not-stuffy vibe, this place delivers.

Admittedly we were unlucky with the table we were allocated but did we really have to have a mop and Hoover accompaniment throughout our meal. The lady was lovely and going a great job so no criticism of someone doing what she was asked to do but as we were near the kitchen there seemed to be an instruction to sweep, mop, Hoover around the area(our table) regularly. My view sadly was not of the London skyline but through the curtains to the discarded crockery, cutlery etc Good was delicious, delivery cursory. The Covent garden location has a much nicer vibe and when spending the amount we did it was overall not worth it.
