Rumours is a lesbian-owned neighbourhood bar at 1071 Parsons Avenue on the south side of Columbus, a short ride from the South High Street bars. It opened in January 2022 and was built with a deliberate late-1970s look. Out x Out's 2026 Columbus listing describes it as a queer bar, and the regular calendar runs to drag shows, trivia and karaoke.
Listed hours are Monday to Thursday 5pm to midnight, Friday 5pm to 2am, Saturday 2pm to 2am and Sunday noon to midnight. Check the bar's own channels before a special trip, since event nights change. Rumours has also hosted community events, including a celebration of the Ohio Historical Marker for Summit Station, once the state's longest-running lesbian bar. It holds a 4.7 Google rating from around 130 reviews.

I absolutely love this place. I moved back from Chicago recently and have popped in a few times. I’m loving the trivia and bingo nights. All the bartenders are kind and attentive. Great prices and selection of drinks. You can bring in food and even your dog! Nice patio too.
I’ve visited a few times and really wanted to enjoy this space, but my experiences have been mixed in ways that are hard to ignore. As a queer bar, I expected a more inclusive and welcoming environment. Instead, it often feels like there’s a divide between long time regulars and newer patrons, which can make it difficult to feel comfortable or included. There have also been repeated instances where gender identity didn’t seem to be handled with much awareness or care. In a space that’s meant to be safe for LGBTQ+ people, that’s disappointing and stands out. The overall environment doesn’t always feel as inclusive as it could be. There seems to be a lack of diversity at times, and the atmosphere can come across as cliquey rather than open. The staff appear to work hard, but there are moments where the level of professionalism affects the experience. Additionally, pricing has felt a bit high and sometimes inconsistent, which adds to the frustration. I genuinely hope this place can grow into a more welcoming and inclusive space for everyone, because it has the potential to be something really great!
Never had a bad experience not even once, food truck was on point, employees on point no issues, also even one night someone who was having a breakdown there was patrons of the establishment that helped him out and got him home safely!
Fun and safe environment for everyone!
Very disappointed and surprised for a place that claims to be a safe space and “all inclusive” they showed throughly this was not at all the case. I was accused of dealing drugs in the bathroom cause I used the bathroom 3 times during my visit. That was the only basis. Mind you I’m a recently separated veteran with Crohn’s disease so that is why I frequented the bathroom. Not to mention my wife was racially profiled along with the only other African American person there multiple times in the night being accused of harassing patrons with no evidence of proof of erratic behavior. Staff even asked the supposed person she harassed and she explicitly told them no what are you talking about. Rumours Is a perfectly fitting name for this bar. This place is not progressive it is a place where open racism and accusations run rampant. 🤮 would not recommend if you are any person of color
