Checked in around 8 pm. They were sold out of the room type I had booked. Upon request of a token of inconvenience, they comped me breakfast and gave me a $75 room credit which I appreciated. My experience here has been very mixed. The food at the bar was pricey, but my burger was good. The bartenders we're very attentive -- no complaints there. The bathroom/shower is where the deductions come from. The showe curtains were disgusting. Black stains on the front, mold on the inside. The soap dispenser was empty and they left an empty/used lotion in the room. When I called room service there was no apology and the lady was quite curt, asking "so what do you need tonight". For $300/night, I expect better.
Guys elevators 10/10 listen for:Welcome to guest floor access please take your room key to the indicator and press you guest room floor! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Stay anywhere but here, had to wait more than three hours for my room
The fact that the Marriott has a great reputation made me expect much more…BUT— Terrible! I was forced to check out early because I was unable to get bath TOWELS!! Who can shower without TOWELS?? 5x room service lied…no towels came. Ruined my trip, and I had to go home to VIRGINIA early, so I could bathe! Gross! One, and done! Never, ever, again!
We were so happy to be taking our vacation and then American Airlines contacted us about the wildfires and air quality. We were spending the night in Detroit for church and then going into Canada. We started calling city departments to really see how bad it is. Detroit told us we would need to stay indoors or wear a N95 mask that the air quality was dangerous. I am asthmatic and if a candle is burning in another room it shuts down my lungs. So we started cancelling our wonderful vacation because of the wildfires and air quality. Marriott is on the river walk and we paid a higher price to enjoy it. They were rude and said they would cancel but we wouldn’t be getting any money back. This isn’t my fault. It is an act of God. Just rude! No reason to be but she was hateful!
Location is great, room is average the service is terrible.
