This used to be one of my favorite and most highly recommended places in the D. Not anymore. Very disappointing experience, but I’ll start with the good, for old love’s sake (also the reason for two stars instead of one). Our waiter was good—friendly and attentive. All the staff serving the dishes were as well. The live music was great. Brussel sprouts were great. Now to the dealbreaking disappointment: the food was nothing like it used to be. There was honestly nothing I could recommend. The desserts were three tiniest pieces of Kroger-type, cupcake-cream filled somethings. The carrots were al dente, the meat was inedible, and the coffee was lukewarm, with only a few brown sugar packets for our entire table of six. We brought guests from out of state because we wanted to show them a good time. We paid over $500 and tipped $50. It simply wasn’t worth it for cafeteria-style food and the house’s museum experience. There was no toilet paper in the restroom, and the AC wasn’t working upstairs. Why? How is this possible at a high-end venue like this? I absolutely would not recommend it for a wedding. I would be mortified. Everyone was tired and disappointed afterward, so instead of continuing with the rest of our planned adventures, we went home to rest. What happened to this place? This used to be one of Detroit’s gems and a venue I was proud to recommend. Sad to see it like this.

The food was excellent, but our server Deborah made our experience. She was so friendly, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to help us make the right menu choices and teach us about the history of the mansion. Cannot say enough great things!

Perfect experience! Wonderful Sunday morning wedding anniversary brunch! We were served by Keitha who was warm & friendly & efficient. We tried a total of 21 items between our Mimosas, Scones, & the full spread of the buffet including the carving station, omelet station, fresh fruits & salads, shrimp coctail, smoked salmon, mushroom chicken, lobster mac & cheese, French toast, cheesy potatoes & more. Highlights were the French toast, salmon over Brussels sprouts & the bananas foster but it was all so delicious! We even got a "Happy Anniversary" chocolate addition to our post-buffet treats! After we finished, we took a stroll around the mansion, inside & outside & it was just gorgeous! Would definitely go again!!

Here right now for my wife’s and I 3rd wedding anniversary. Never been here before. But I’ll tell you what, don’t second guess it, just do it. Place is all around absolutely amazing, from the moment you step foot on the property to, until the time you leave. The food, the layouts the hospitality, the drinks, everything and I mean everything is absolutely perfect!! Our waitress Madelynn is absolutely perfect as well!!! Couldn’t ask for a better night out! Just came to the third floor to see the ghost bar, and I’ll tell you what, Alfred is the man you wanna see! Easy to talk to, makes one hell of a drink and makes you feel more than welcomed!
