It doesn't live up to the online hype. For breakfast, we had a tomato and leek quiche with fried potatoes and bacon, plus bacon strips. Coffee in the US is usually filter coffee anyway. The annex has a whirlpool and shower. The beds are standard. Everything is decorated in a colonial style, and you can hear and see its age. If you like that sort of thing, you'll be rewarded with the unique character. Since the standard of hotels in the US is usually pretty much the same for 3-4 star hotels, this place doesn't measure up for me.
Beautiful old home. Easy self check in. Friendly and thoughtful staff :) Breakfast and the “welcome” baked goods were delicious! Would definitely stay again.
I'll preface by saying we really don't do B&B's too much but thought our New York/New England trip might be the perfect place to do it. After a lot of searching and comparing, the WHM Inn seemed like the best option in town. It was also the highest cost, even compared to nicer hotels in the area. We stayed in the Carriage House which was not too great of an appearance from the outside and right next to the parking lot. The room had a very old smell. Again, I get it with B&B's, but maybe not at this price level. It was almost too much to deal with for us. The room was clean enough but just seemed pretty dated. There is no TV, apparently in any of the rooms, so be sure to read the fine print on that. The bedding was also not very nice. No nicely appointed bedding with many pillows. Just sort of like staying at a friends house. Pillows seemed well used and not very nice. And the worst part was the stains on the sheets and pillow cases (like grease stains). I could see that the sheets were cleaned, but if the stains aren't coming out, you might not want to use those sheets for guests. Also, our towels had some stains on them. The shower was updated, but no one bothered to test it out as the head didn't swivel down enough so I had to stand up against the wall to get any spray, unless I used the handheld. We got in around 8PM and either not much was left of the desserts or there wasn't much to begin with. Certainly not like the pictures. We had two choices, which weren't to our families liking. The breakfast was not bad, but I think once again, a miss from what I had read and seen on the site and in reviews. I think I would have preferred to hit one of the local places. Location was only a couple blocks from most restaurants and town, so that was nice. I think we just felt overall disappointed in the look of it all, smell of it all, especially for the cost of it all (over $400 on a Monday night). When we texted these issues the evening of our stay we were politely told their sheets are always well cleaned (even though I sent pictures), they had mentioned no TV, and they didn't address the smell. They did say their desserts were what they were and didn't always fit everyone's taste. It wasn't a terrible experience and we enjoyed Ithaca, but had hoped it lived up a bit better.
Superb. Ridiculously pleasant. Breakfast and evening snacks are incredible. Will def stay here again!
We stayed here for our wedding weekend, and it was absolutely perfect! The staff went above and beyond to make everything feel so special and personal. They were incredibly accommodating and made us and our guests feel right at home. The Inn was beautiful, the service was top-notch, and the entire weekend felt magical thanks to their hospitality. Highly recommend for any special occasion or getaway!
I just want to thank Amy and her team for such a lovely graduation stay. From the location, to the hospitality, to the beautiful space, to the delicious breakfasts and desserts, to being so accommodating, to thinking ahead of all of your guests’ needs, we couldn’t have been happier with our choice for this incredible weekend. Only wish we had discovered it sooner!
