What reviewers say

Many visitors praise the friendly and attentive service, particularly from the valet team and specific staff members like Frank, Yia, Nick, Chase, and Mateo. However, some guests express disappointment with a lack of shade on the beach and by the pool, and others feel the hotel is understaffed and lacks attention to detail, leading to a feeling of being underwhelmed despite the location and building.

5/5 Stars – An Absolute Coastal Gem!0 I recently stayed at the Dune House Hotel & Spa in Atlantic Beach (just outside Jacksonville, FL) and it completely exceeded every expectation. This beautifully reimagined beachfront retreat is the perfect blend of relaxed coastal charm and elevated luxury. The Location is unbeatable — right on the ocean at 1 Ocean Blvd, where Atlantic and Neptune Beaches meet. You’re steps from the sand with direct beach access, yet tucked into a vibrant, walkable neighborhood that feels worlds away from the hustle. It’s easy to explore the area on foot or by bike, making it ideal for a romantic getaway, family trip, or solo recharge.2 The Views are simply breathtaking. Waking up to the Atlantic Ocean sparkling from my oceanfront room was magical — sunrise coffee on the balcony with waves crashing below set the tone for every perfect day. Whether from the pool deck, spa, or dining areas, the endless horizon and beach energy are immersive and restorative. Dining options within walking distance there are plenty of other excellent spots nearby like North Beach Fish Camp, Flying Iguana, Poe’s Tavern, and more along the Beaches Town Center area. Everything from casual bites to upscale dinners is just a short, enjoyable stroll away — no need for a car if you don’t want one.36 What truly sets Dune House apart is the world-class service. From the moment you arrive, the staff makes you feel like a cherished guest — attentive, warm, professional, and genuinely passionate about delivering an unforgettable experience. The valet, front desk, housekeeping, and restaurant teams went above and beyond, anticipating needs and adding those thoughtful personal touches that turn a great stay into a memorable one.26 The spa, refreshed rooms, and overall vibe complete the package. Dune House isn’t just a hotel — it’s a sanctuary where time slows down with the tide. I can’t recommend it highly enough and will absolutely be back soon. If you’re looking for a true Atlantic escape near Jacksonville, book this place! 🌊✨ — Daniel J. (Highly satisfied guest)

I was very disappointed with the lack of communication and assistance with locating an expensive suit I left in our room. I called shortly after checking out and advised them I left a suit in the closet and they said they would hold it for me. Fast forward and when I called about the suit they said they no longer had a record of the suit or didn’t have it anymore. I left messages for the housekeeping manager which weren’t returned.

My wife and I have stayed here several times over the last few years. We love the staff and the attention to detail that they have. From the minute we walk in, everything is taking care of and it's just a great place for a get away weekend. We usually rent their bikes when we stay and bike around Atlantic beach. It's just a beautiful and relaxing stay everything time we book a weekend.
