Luxor Hotel & Casino

Came here for Cisco Live, got a great price but was on the second floor which sucked given the noise but fun either way 🤷‍♂️

Was very nice! I got a room that was by the silver elevator, which was very hard to find and i did have to ask a cleaner to find my room. However once I found my room it was very spacious and the beds were very comfortable. One thing tho that was pretty bad was my room was by the Taxi area, and the taxis were honking like crazy at night. Would bring a fan for some extra noise though.

Inspired to write a recent review given in my opinion there is a lot of misconception and negativity about Luxor. We stayed over Memorial Day weekend for (4) nights and overall enjoyed our stay. Our room was a Tower 1BR suite (not elite suite which is even bigger) and had a king bed, small dining table, sink, mini fridge, espresso maker, armchair, coffee table and couch. It did NOT have a pull out sofa bed (if planning more than 2) or a microwave, and did not have a standard coffeemaker (just the espresso maker). The room was plenty spacious and the bathroom and closet were both quite big with a separate tub and a separate walk in shower, and double vanity, and ironing board. The room was clean and fine for us. I would recommend staying in a TOWER vs a PYRAMID room as everyone seems to agree the tower is more updated and newer. We stayed in the silver west side, which is closer to Excalibur and NYNY, but further from the pool and Mandalay Bay, the opposite is true for gold east side. Either way the walk is really not that far (less than 7 minutes) and there is a tram which goes to Mandalay or Excalibur, but again the walk is easy to either. We had no issues with air conditioning which some had said they did with pyramid rooms. The room and our floor was quiet the whole time, could have been since we were on the 19th floor so even street noise was not bad- would recommend asking for higher up if this is a concern. Taxis are available 24/7, it is $21ish to airport, 17$ and up for going to Bellagio or elsewhere on strip. It is easy to walk to NYNY, MGM, and even PH or Paris, or you can go to the MGM monorail station. Foodwise we have no complaints- it is Vegas Strip so nothing will be “cheap” but the portions are quite large, i.e. we had the Pharaoh Breakfast for $25 was plenty of food for 2 people. You could even do a $23 Cuban sandwich for a quick lunch for 2 people. Expect everything to fall into the $20-25 range for burgers chicken tenders and a bit more for fajitas tacos etc. We didn’t drink much, expect Bud Light to be $10-11, imports more and well cocktails 10+, more for premium. Starbucks is everywhere, and so are little convenience stores and grab and go shops. The pool we enjoyed. On a Thursday before Memorial day it was not too crowded and plenty of chairs (in the sun which were free, in the shade were you had to reserve and pay). Plenty of free towels as well. Now to the nitty gritty- is the Luxor as new, modern, or bright as Bellagio, Aria, or Cosmopolitan? No. It is not for you if you expect the newest and greatest. Parts of the casino are quite dark and the signage is a bit dated- feels like more like a 90’s casino in parts than a modern one. But for the price we found it well worth it.

Recently had a stay at Luxor both in their pyramid room and twin tower rooms. After reading reviews about how bad the pyramid rooms were, I switched hotels between my stays. But to my surprise I loved the pyramid rooms. Elevators were straight forward to find, rooms were clean and spacious. Bed was super comfortable with lots of pillows provided. Washrooms were dated, but very spacious and water pressure was good. Counter space was plenty with one sink . Sure it might have gotten hot in the rooms because of the sun, but there’s a clear notice from the hotel to close curtains during the day. The AC works perfectly well too. Took a while for us to figure out the right temperature but it was great. Using the inclinator elevators wells unique too. Nothing bad to say about the pyramid rooms! Overall, 4/5 rating We stayed at Cosmo for a couple days after and then went back to twin towers for a couple days. Hearing that these rooms were updated and much better than pyramid, I had high hopes. And honestly I would’ve preferred to stay in pyramids. The beds weren’t as comfortable, pillows were deflated and flat. View wasn’t as good. It felt hotter even turning the AC on fully. The bathrooms are tiny, however there was a tub which no one used. Counter space was minimal. Shower head had no water pressure whatsoever so ever. One thing that was a big problem was there was no fan in the washroom.. which was odd and probably our biggest issue. Overall the room was much smaller/little room to move around in. There were 2 armchairs which were useful. Also the bed had plugs only in the middle so the person sleeping on the other side of the bed didnt have a plug to use. Wifi was quite bad over here compare to the pyramid. And the elevators were longer walk, with the hallways not having clear signs to find the rooms. Overall rating 2.5/5. Staff was friendly and provided prompt services. Giving us medication fridge when asked and housekeeping services as needed. Location is far from the middle strip but super close if going to concert at allegiant or sports game at t mobile arena. Would take my chances staying at the pyramid but not the tower.
