Sin City Classic
About This Event
The Sin City Classic, a five-day LGBTQ+ sports festival, takes over Las Vegas every January over Martin Luther King Jr. weekend. It started in 2008 as a softball tournament, courtesy of the Greater Los Angeles Softball Association (GLASA), and has since ballooned to over 10,000 athletes, 500 teams, and 24 sports. GLASA still runs the show from Los Angeles.
It's a cluster of separate tournaments that happen to share a weekend. Each sport has its own registration, venue, and schedule - some are even run by partner leagues. In 2026, the golf tournament was held at the Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort's Sun Mountain course, while New York's Big Apple Rec Sports hosted pickleball at Sunset Park. You can sign up as a team or, in some sports, as an individual.
Off the field, there's a concert and a Sunday closing party - Brooklyn Bowl hosted it in 2026. Informal nights on the Strip are also a given. The official site lists over 30 separate events across the 24 sports, along with a venue map. Check it before booking a hotel, as some fields and courts are a long way from the Strip.
GLASA negotiates hotel room blocks, which open in the summer. You'll need to budget for a car or rideshares, since venues are spread across the Las Vegas valley. January in Las Vegas means mild days and cold nights - factor that in for outdoor sports and early starts.
The 2026 festival ran from 15 to 19 January. The 20th anniversary edition is set for 14 to 18 January 2027, with room blocks and further details on the official site.
