21c Museum Hotel Lexington

Disappointed with this 21c Museum in Lexington , very few displays to view . Louisville is apparently the better location for the 21c Museum , many more exhibits to see

The sink in the room was stopped up, the shower curtain was dirty and the filter was dirty. The staff was very friendly and nice.

We stayed multiple times over the last four years while our daughter was at UofK. We canceled our room and were assured it was canceled for parents weekend and they charged us for the room for our last parents weekend even though I had an email proving it. For graduation we reserved two room one of which was 1107… the smallest room I have seen in any hotel. We asked for a late check out because of a 9am Sat graduation. They said they couldn’t because of graduation. Graduation ends on Saturday… Customer service is just terrible at this hotel! Period!! As a titanium elite Marriott member I hope someone like Marriott buys them. They suck!!

I was at their restaurant and asked for valet parking but they towed the car instead. It was a $225 tow bill I had to pay but I had asked for valet parking when I arrived. Their manager knew this and still refused to help with the tow bill.

The service was great and the food was to die for. But I swear and I know this can’t be true but my room looked like It had been dropped in a mud puddle. And when I asked to speak to a higher up he told me to watch my tone. I know I shouldn’t judge appearances but he had really muscular teeth.

The hotel lobby and art museum is beautiful and the room was very clean with a lovely view. We had everything we needed and could walk anywhere we wanted to go downtown. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Among the most expensive and the worst hotels I’ve stayed at. The room is tiny, the whole place is run down. The HVAC is so very loud, even the TV is old and out of date, can’t stream, can’t cast. I do not recommend.

I read all the reviews, which were mostly negative, and ignored them 😜. Mostly because this place looks really nice in their photos and on their website. Believe the reviews, like the towels oddly "look like dogs chewed on them", rooms are weirdly very dusty-a layer of dust over everything when we got there, but even our stuff would gather dust while sitting in the room (?), street racers below kept us up both nights - the windows are single payne and I know there isn't a lot the hotel can do about this part, but after two nights of very little sleep, there's no way I would have booked here if I had believed the previous reviews about that. The double queen room was small and did not look as nice as portrayed in photos. Service was poor, staff was disinterested and non responsive. A few positives: the art throughout was interesting and we enjoyed browsing it. The shower was great. They leave a couple little chocolates on the night stand. My daughter liked the blue penguins.

Once Opulent, Now Timeworn I have stayed at 21C hotels for years as this was a big disappointment. There are so many things that need to be updated or replaced - old furniture with knicks on the tables and stains on the upholstery, frayed towels and bathmats with strings hanging down and holes throughout, the satin hanger holding the robe was showing the foam wrap around the hanger under very worn satin, stains and holes in the carpet. It felt more like a roadside Super 8 Motel, not a luxury boutique hotel. There's no longer a mini bar in the room (which ALL luxury hotels have). The mini, wonderful smelling shampoos and lotions have been replaced with large, economy-sized pump bottles (VERY tacky). The blue penguin also stays in the same place versus moving around the hotel - which was SO COOL and unique and only experienced with a 21C hotel stay. My heart is just broken to see that the company that purchased these hotels not investing the money to keep it maintained. Not sure I will be staying here again after this experience.

Fantastic stay for the JBBI conference, all the staff were super polite and helpful and Chris at the bar was a fantastic font of knowledge. Lovely, big, clean rooms and exceptional service.
