I appreciate small businesses and we should have more of them, but the meat was dry. Me and the people with me had the shredded chicken, pulled pork, and brisket. Every single meat was dry that the moisture in my mouth was absorbed by the meat and it was still hard to swallow. Im from Texas and Ive had different kinds of bbq across the US, but this was not good. Great prices though. The mac & cheese didnt taste like cheese. The coleslaw was fine. The fries were good but so salty. I would eat somewhere else if youre hungry.

Red State BBQ… Count Your Days I don’t actually mean that. However, I walked into this establishment with high expectations. I had ordered the brisket and the pulled pork meals with a pint of banana pudding and a drink. It was very disappointing. I had clearly requested the food TO GO, and it was fit for dining in instead. An honest mistake. However, once the staff (lovely, by the way) had packaged my food into those boxes and handed them back to me, there was no pudding. I had paid more than five dollars for this pudding. I did not take this lightly. I requested my pint AGAIN, and they gave me it. No drama! Yet, when I had opened my box, no sauce. Red State BBQ, do you think that I would want my meat to be naked? IT’S IN YOUR NAME!! Anyways, I asked for my BBQ, and they gave me the smallest cup possible. Whatever. So, I walked out to my car, hoping to just eat my food and leave. The pulled pork was lovely. WOULD’VE APPRECIATED MORE BBQ, but it’s okay. Next was the brisket. I was expecting the best, most satisfying, delicious, sensational, delectable, melt-in-your-mouth meat ever. I had gotten a slab of no-good, dry disappointment. Might as well buy my BBQ from a sketchy New York food truck. Next was the green beans… they were fine. I love green beans. They were a bit salty, but after the brisket, I wasn’t expecting much. The coleslaw was fine and the baked beans were great. Additionally, the cornbread was phenomenal. One whole star for the cornbread! Now, there was the pudding. I had paid so much for this pint. This better be the best banana pudding that I have ever experienced… and it was lovely. Pricey, but pleasant. I am never coming back.

I’ve been to red State at least a couple of dozen times and you also catered my son‘s wedding and my retirement. It absolutely never disappoints. Great food every time. Additionally I was having lunch with Dennis Quaid when he took that picture that you have in the restaurant. He also commented how great your food was. Keep it up.

You won’t have better BBQ this side of the Mississippi— I ALWAYS stop here when traveling; sometimes going up to 2 hours out of the way. Double smoked brisket and the ribs will transcend you to places BBQ shouldn’t be able to.

Great food and prices. The staff not so good, spent more time playing joking ignoring customers

The food is hit or miss. Some days ot is awesome some days it is just ok barbecue. I guess it depends on who is running the smoker. Service is always good but always really busy. Atmosphere is old school barbecue. This place as I said isn't bad but isn't consistently good. Everyone has an off day but I guess it is every other time I've gone in.
