An amazing place to spend an evening as well as a relaxing morning. Staff is attentive and friendly, but not overly so. “Comfortable Elegance” would be the terms I would use to sum up the experience.

Truly a special place with outstanding people who show they are happy to be there. From check in with Adam, to fun interactions with Terran and great conversation and delicious cocktails at the bar with Arik, including a pleasant and easy check out with Juan, it was a top-notch service experience all the way around! Oh, and jazz on Friday was exceptional! This might be the only place we stay when visiting Madison.

I stayed at Mansion Hill Inn for an anniversary weekend, and honestly it ended up being one of the most memorable hotel stays I’ve had in years. The second we pulled up outside, the place felt different from a normal hotel. It looks more like a historic mansion you’d see in a movie than somewhere you actually stay overnight. The building itself dates back to the 1800s and has this quiet, elegant atmosphere without feeling stiff or overly formal. Check-in felt personal right away. Instead of standing in a busy lobby line, one of the staff members greeted us by name, offered drinks, and spent a few minutes explaining the history of the inn and nearby places to walk around downtown Madison. That small interaction honestly set the tone for the whole stay. Our room was beautiful — high ceilings, huge windows, soft lighting, and one of the most comfortable hotel beds I’ve slept in. I especially remember the bathroom because the shower pressure was incredible after spending most of the day walking around downtown. The room felt luxurious without trying too hard. A lot of guest reviews online mention the same thing about the comfort, cleanliness, and attention to detail throughout the inn. One evening we sat downstairs near the bar area with wine and fresh cookies while it rained outside, and honestly that became my favorite part of the trip. The whole place has this calm atmosphere that makes you slow down naturally. The only downside was that parking and valet arrangements felt slightly inconvenient when the area got busy. Still, compared to standard chain hotels, Mansion Hill Inn felt far more personal and memorable. It’s the kind of place you book for the experience itself, not just somewhere to sleep.

Incredible stay- the best place to stay in Madison! The service is perfection and the location cannot be beat- just a few blocks from the capital. The morning breakfast of fresh pastries and bagels/lox was a great surprise.

My partner and I cannot recommend staying at Mansion Hill Inn highly enough! We were first greeted by Juan, who provided excellent customer service throughout—from personally handling our valet parking to giving us fantastic local recommendations for places to visit and eat. He was professional, humorous, and courteous; a true gentleman who made our stay amazing (Thanks Juan, much appreciated). The rest of the staff and the housekeeping team were equally pleasant and kept the entire property immaculately clean. We originally booked for one night but extended it to two because the inn felt like such a relaxing, magical home. We stayed in Room 7, which is a beautiful space oozing with charm. It is very spacious, with floor-to-ceiling windows and a fireplace set within a library alcove. The highlight was definitely the hidden bathroom behind a library wall, accessed through a large bookcase door! We also loved our private patio, where we enjoyed the delicious, fresh local breakfast and watched the sunset with a glass or two of wine. The building itself is a stunning historic gem and even better in person. As regular travellers, this is easily one of our favourite places we’ve ever visited, and we will definitely be returning!

It's not just a hotel. It's a place to feel home. The personnel does everything to care of the guests. We booked 5 rooms and everyone was amazed by the awesome hospitality. I have never seen rooms that were as clean as theirs. My allergies were taken care of perfectly (gluten, dairy, fructose). Honestly: you are the only hotel globally that have managed my allergies at breakfast well (all the hundreds of hotels I've stayed before had some ingredient incorrect). They managed it all. Thanks!! The location is awesome as well. At the edge of the city center. Super quiet, but still on short walking distance from the center/capitol square.
