About this place Dru's Place

Dru's Place, which also goes by Dru's Bar, is one of Memphis's two full-time gay bars. It's at 1474 Madison Avenue, on the old Madison Heights gay strip in Midtown. Its website calendar has drag shows, karaoke and themed parties booked into late 2026, and it was in the Memphis Flyer's Best of Memphis 2024. The crowd mixes gay men, lesbians, trans locals and their friends, and the food is simple: cold beer, pizza and Rotel dip. Our listed hours start at 5pm on weekdays and 1pm on Sunday, running to 3am on Friday and Saturday, when it's busiest. It's 21+. Google rates it 4.5 from about 400 reviews. The Lamplighter Lounge, with drag on Mondays, is a short walk east.
