Great, convenient location. Modern rooms. What sets this place from the other hotels is the the restaurant and bar. The food and drinks are fantastic. Great atmosphere.

Do NOT go for graduation. They significantly overcharge for below average service.

I travel a lot for different reasons so I can properly judge good hospitality professionals. I met Laurie at the front desk during my check in tonight; which was a great example of a true professional with such a "wonderful demeanor". The hotel is great and Laurie is truly an asset to this to this hotel.

I stayed there for two nights. It is very close to the Yale art museums and the campus, which makes it super convenient. It also have some good bars and restaurants right there, and it is only about a mile away from Union Station for trains. So, all of that is great. The decor is good, and they have a washing machine for laundry. It is a very solid 4-star hotel experience, at a good price point. The staff were friendly. The gym is in the basement and is pretty basic with fairly limited (and in some cases broken) equipment. There is no pool or spa. The rooms are somewhat old, and the beds are pretty firm and not comfortable. The linen on the beds is pretty basic and somewhat threadbare in places. Overall, I found this to be satisfactory mostly for location, although I can see why some people might consider it not good enough value. In comparison to other 4-star properties that I stayed at recently, this one seems comparable and is absolutely a step way above your basic hotel. The art and art books in the lobby, with a good bar (along with a restaurant I did not try), were also good. I can see why academics stay here when visiting Yale, as the cost is not super-exorbitant for academics, perhaps.
