What reviewers say

Visitors praise Hotel Marcel for its unique, beautifully restored Brutalist architecture and modern, energy-efficient design, with many enjoying the convenience of automated controls and helpful amenities like free parking and shuttle service. However, some guests found the automated light controls to be problematic, with one reporting an inability to turn lights off, and others experienced noise disturbances and issues with room soundproofing.

About this place Hotel Marcel New Haven, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

Hotel Marcel occupies the Brutalist Armstrong Rubber (later Pirelli) Building designed by Marcel Breuer, at 500 Sargent Drive beside I-95 and the IKEA lot in New Haven. It is a mainstream hotel in Hilton's Tapestry Collection, not a gay venue. The conversion is known for its all-electric, solar-powered design aimed at net-zero energy use, and the interiors lean into mid-century style. The location is by the harbour on the edge of town rather than downtown, so most guests drive or take a short ride to Yale and the Wooster Street pizza places. Google reviewers give it 4.6 from about 700 reviews. Parking is on site.

I would rate this probably 100 stars !! We will come every year. This is the first time at this hotel and will be coming here quite a bit during the year. It is immaculately clean. It is absolutely beautiful. The service is outstanding from the front desk, receptionist and we ate breakfast every day the restaurant is amazing. The food is farm to table and our waitress. We had every day; we stayed here 4 nights. I would say run don't walk to this beautiful, outstanding amazing Hotel; room was spectacular. I'm tell you from the darking Shades to the pad on the side of the wall that you hit for Shades for lights. housekeeping was outstanding also!!!

They charged me twice for my stay on my cc. I had paid for 2 rooms in advance in January 2026 & once I got there in June 2026 then they had no record of the payment & just charged my cc without notifying me. Shows poor management & unnecessary stress until this whole issue gets resolved.

We rarely stay at Hiltons but we are glad we stayed at this one. The service was incredible. Loved the suite, easy parking, water views. I had to leave a review for the service specifically. They all went above and beyond. The signage out front, and the shape of the building had us a little confused when we arrived, but once you step inside, it’s a modern/ European style, upscale minimalist vibe. Clean and well maintained.
